Artist's description:

It was lunchtime/late afternoon picnic time. Out walking, as usual, we found this fabulous west facing (into the afternoon sun) dry mossy, stumpy location west of Wharncliffe Crags, on a strech of the Trans-Pennine Trail called Plank Gate. There we sat watching the sun submerge into its own autumn amber light. I was munching on a Quorn roll with mustard when the light turned into that 'Golden Hour' magic light. The low slung sun penetrating through tree trunks illuminating rock, bark and fern. This combined with the earthy smell of old fallen trees and bracket fungii created a magic moment which can only be described as 'Ethereal'. This is the stuff people write about but you need to be really there, with your senses wide open to fully appreciate the timelessness of the location.

It wasn't long before we realised the quality of this brief illumination; camera out; 4 or 5 shots at the most. Tricky light to work in but I think we managed to capture some of the atmosphere we felt.

Mentally immerse and bathe yourself in the light in this photographic time capture, feel the healing power of the green light - now you are there, bask and enjoy!

Kindest regards
