Norfolk Island where I live has an abundant wild rooster population. Somehow they are the most spectacularly beautiful roosters I have ever seen. The island also has abundant tropical flowers and sub tropical rainforest in the national parks. These elements combine in the Jungle Rooster Series, which attempts to interpret the riot of colour of the forest, the gardens and the roosters.
These smaller paintings are in some ways maquettes or studies for my larger paintings, exploring ideas and themes which I will later develop in larger paintings.
The painting painted on a shallow edge canvas on stretcher, and sold with D-hooks and wire ready for hanging.
The painting is painted with a combination of different acrylic paints with different qualities, including Jo Sonja art paints, Golden Paints and Atelier Interactive paints.
The painting will be packed with cardboard corners in a reinforced cardboard flat package with bubble wrap to protect it.
