Artist's description:

I'd seen a documentary about photographers in California and how they work either early in the morning or late in the afternoon to get the best light and I thought I'd like to try it out for myself over here. Of course the number of good days you can rely on in England, unlike California, are very limited, but on this particular day we were lucky. It was August, so we had a gloriously long twilight to work in and the huge expanse of Crosby Beach, (just outside Liverpool), at our disposal.

The dancer, Julia (Griffin), was, as always, full of energy and this, combined with the huge smile on her face and the golden light from the low sun, never fails to give me a sense of well-being. You can see a snippet of the shoot on the "Me at Work" section.
