This abstract piece is characterized by its movement, oceanic color-scheme, and moody aura. This complex piece was created using a variety of tools such as pen caps, straws, water, medium, acrylic paint, and pastels. The shadows are placed behind the abstract and organic shapes to add a dimension of 3D to the image, creating the illusion that the figures of color are jumping off the canvas at you. I used colors like Mediterranean blue, emerald greens, lavender purples, crème white, orchids and a blackened-blue boarder to give the piece a fish-eye affect that sucks you into it. I named the piece this, "I've Been Wearing The Ocean as a Reminder," because I felt that it reminded me of the fluid movement of a gown if the ocean could crash and wave on it. The reminder of the tranquility and simultaneous power and ferociousness of the sea, are felt in this calmingly entrancing piece.
