Original artwork description:

A favorite walk through conservation land near our home. With this painting, I applied my signature tessellations (patterns without overlap or gaps) and experimented with glazes to vary the opaqueness of adjacent snowflakes. The effect is a soft veil that hides, obscures or discloses features of this winter landscape. In some cases snowflakes act as prisms refracting sunlight, in others as mirrors to reflect the trees on the stream. Thank you to Redit friends for their feedback on this style.
