Isis – 25-01-19
Some time ago I saw underwater excavation pictures of Heracleion, an ancient Egyptian city submerged. I always thought to return to my painting ‘Loving the Alien’ and take the central figure and put it in another underwater scenery. I loved to hatch the paper to a total – almost – black, a hommage to the black square of Malevich. Contrary to what he tried to express with it – here ends arts – is this my starting point.
Graphite pencil drawing (Pentel 0.5 mm, 3B) on Canson Bristol paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm) - A4 format)
Artist: Corné Akkers
Graphite pencil, pentel 0.5 mm, 3B
