Artist's description:

The original painting was created from an image from one of my extensive original photographs of Glasgow.

The vista is well known to many of my contemporaries and brings back memories particularly of the iconic Barr's Irn Bru billboard, one of the first such structures in Scotland. When I first exhibited this painting, I lost count of the number of people who pointed and smiled, recognising the image after so many years, some of whom remember using it as a landmark to remind them to get off the bus (a Corporation bus in its green and yellow livery) when they were children. I even had a long conversation with someone who was responsible for emptying the old clockwork parking meters all the way down Renfield Street.
