“Into the Woods” is one of those rare challenges that we artists sometime find the most satisfying when completed.
This was a view from atop the rocks at a location called Lucia Falls in Battle Ground Washington. The challenge for me was the coloring of the rock outcroppings, or so I thought at the time. In reality is was the movement of the water and the coloring as it was about to leave the area of sunlight "into the woods" that became a little frustrating.
A borrowed tube of Thalo Blue from a friend saved the day to capture the essence of the light upon the water. This painting includes a platinum frame "ready to hang" which compliments the work.
