"Into the Universe" is inspired by Douglas Adams' epic story "Restaurant at the End of the Universe".
Heavy body acrylics give this work a wide range of values needed to represent the depth of the universe. A particularly strong vivid effect was created with fluorescent acrylics, giving the painting a sense of urgent "hotness" in terms of temperature, just as the early universe was a hot mess of radiation. Fine Mica interference pigments make this painting metallic under certain light angles, giving the work a 'fourth' dimension, and liquid pouring medium was used to create a background marbling effect and additional texture, to represent the natural fluidity of the universe.
Finished with a double layer of gloss varnish to protect from dust and UV rays. Signed on the back and signed certificate of authenticity included.
