Artist's description:

American Indian "gathering of nations" or powwows are held yearly in various cities in the US. The ancestral dance costumes have changed over the years and have become more colorful and exotic. This is a commentary on the modern performer with his shirt, bolo tie and aviator sunglasses. This painting is an attempt is to illustrate a contemporary view of a cultural heritage without showing the traditional "old time indian" and, at the same time, addressing the dignity of the contemporary American Indian peoples.
