Artist's description:

A landscape in the Olgas range in Northern Territory, Australia. This is typical of the red hills and monumental rocks in this spectacular area of the Uluru National Park featuring twisted and wizened specimens of trees which still retain their own special kind of beauty.
Occasionally, as in this painting, after rainfall the parched quality of the outback is supplanted by a fresh explosion of flora and the vividness of the greenery underlines in an eerie way the underlying starkness of the landscape.

Materials used:

oil on gesso primed mineral board

In the Olgas-Kata Tjuta1 (2013)
