Artist's description:

Laughter is the theme of watercolor. It's inspired by the character of the Harlequin (Commedia dell'arte) and the literary work "The Name of the Rose" by Umberto Eco. The author's composition presents the provocative laughter of the Harlequin inciting the spectator to doubt its genesis. Why does Harlequin laugh? From whom or for whom do he laugh? Between salutary laughter and mocking laughter the threshold is tenuous, opening up numerous interpretative possibilities. The warm colors are predominant in this composition highlighting the facial lightness of the Harlequin and the expressiveness of an open, contagious, explosive laughter.
