This piece represents to me how we can say things we do not mean when we are affected by a distorted sense of self protection, defensiveness, paranoia and vulnerability when we are in a fragile state of mind. A manic element to this is represented by the bold colouring. This can range from hideous to humorous when reflecting back with a clear mind, thus there is a garish, cartoonish exaggeration to the image. The image is created using dry media on fine art paper and mounted and framed to an excellent standard, white mount with black inner edge, black frame.
