Artist's description:

10% of proceeds from the "Louie the NEurotic Dog" collection are donated to a local dog rescue in Maine. WOOF!

I originally started this painting in the summer. That magical time of year when you could step outside and not worry about dying from hypothermia. I thought it was fitting because Louie LOVE'S the water.

First time Louie went in the water I thought I was going to have to go in after him. We were on a dock and he kept going to the edge. And whine. And whine. Go to the middle, pace, whine. Back to the edge. Whine. Then he jumped. Under the water he went. Under the water he stayed. Like a cartoon, nothing but bubbles were emerging to the surface. More dog. I waited. Then I could feel my eyes growing to the size of dinner plates, and a little light bulb started flickering as my thought process started going into panic mode. Then he popped up. Flailing around with his eyeballs bulging out of his head. It's not what one could call "swimming", as he wasn't going anywhere. It looked more like a synchronized swimmer that got a full body cramp. So I grabbed him and pulled him up on the dock. He then V-lined it to the shore.

Surprisingly enough, he went swimming again later that day. Not off the dock. But from the gradual sloping beach. And he hasn't missed an opportunity to go swimming since.
