Artist's description:

10 X 12 inch oil on standard edge canvas.

This image/memory is my childhood in a nutshell – always in the safest of hands, doing things that made the memories I now treasure like gold. Sweden, winter, circa 1976, on the ice outside our block of flats (in the background), in my mums hands learning to ice skate. Nostalgia is powerful to me, almost makes me loose my breath at times, makes me feel I need to build a time travelling machine to take me back. Nostalgia has inspired me to many paintings, this being one of them.

Nearly all my work is inspired by the ever changing colours through the passing of the seasons in the local landscape along roads I travel every day. I never aim to copy but simply to capture feelings and light without focusing on details. All my paintings are done by pallet knife using oil paint, mainly on canvas. I tend to be drawn by the dramatic colours created by angry, grey skies but also by the beautiful, captivating colour transformation the evening light bless us with.
