The Mainz-based artist creates his art in his
studio using various techniques based on acrylic
painting and collage. In addition to the use of
top-quality acrylic paints, he uses images from a
rich collection of photographs and illustrations
from magazines and other media in his
figurative art, which gives the subject matter a
fascinating additional level of meaning and
ensures surprising perspectives and
interpretative approaches.
While the basic concept of these images can be
seen as a logical development of his earlier
Cubist-inspired style, the collaboration with his
wife, who is also an artist, has given mixed
media-based art a more multi-faceted, new
direction in terms of aesthetics and subject
matter. This expansion of artistic expression is
characteristic of the works of art he has created
in this way since 2016. It has also paved the
way for an intensification of this working
method, which Namazi has consistently
pursued ever since.
In contrast to his city motifs, which have been
popular for many years and only seemingly put
real cities in a context with their inhabitants, he
realizes his figurative paintings in a more two-
dimensional way and likes to use techniques of
classical painting. With this approach and the
integration of thematically matching picture
fragments using collage, he creates more space
for the complex contents of these works, which
often leads to thoroughly entertaining, but also
thought-provoking levels of meaning.
