Artist's description:

I believe most humans share a feeling of kinship, love and understanding when we are with animals. Not only do they understand us but we can appreciate their fear, their love of their own (and love of us) and when I paint them my intention is not to capture just their outside but, somehow, an image of an ephemeral passing emotion that is common to all of us.
For twelve years my husband and I lived on and made our living from a 10 acre smallholding here in Wild West Wales. During that time we fell in love with the animals of the fields and hills of Wales and of the meadows and woodlands around us.
Though, sadly, we no longer live that life due to my husband's long-term illness the love of it all still fills me and it is this love, and the knowledge and understanding we embraced in our years there, that still comes through in much of my art.
