Artist's description:

original artwork drawing

70 x 50 cm

The drawing is represented by a young and beautiful woman, happy with her beauty looking at the spectator. The drawing is hyperealist as a vision, and in the background there are intersected geometric lines and shapes, aspect that emphasizes the overall expression of the work.
original cubist artwork

70 x 50 cm

The painting is inspired by the creation of modern painter Pablo Picasso. In 2017 I visited the Pablo Picasso Museum in Paris and I was very impressed with his paintings. For a few years I have been experimenting with Cubism and other techniques of modern art. I love all artistic styles and I find it very difficult to choose a stylistic way to really represent me.

Cubist paintings are a delight for modern, traditional and all kinds of spaces. Modern painting is accessible to people with openness in the soul and freedom in ideas. The paintings are made with the watercolor and the black marker, being very close to the comic strips. Works of this type are accessible because they are made spontaneously. These figurative-geometric compositions are made up of deformed characters being slightly surreal, from an imaginary world. The drawings are made first in the pencil, then with the watercolor and finally the black marker to create a sharp contrast between the surfaces.

"Award winnning artist, Chifan Catalin Alexandru, weaves together beguiling characters and mythical places ostensibly on stage for all to witness. In his fascinating body of work Alexandru weaves relationships between each element and character, as they work in concert to realize a loosely defined mythic narrative. Every painting has a story to tell, charming audiences to dwell on each piece to discover and interpret the unfolding events. Stylistically Alexandru was influienced by the surrealism of SalvadorDali and the imaginative portraiture of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, while developing his own personal artistic language. His canvases are packed with nuance and his handling of paint is sensitive, with delicate chiaroscuro and distinctive facial and body characteristics. Very often Alexandru will use animals or amorphous characters as the protagonists , reinforcing the conceptual distance between his illusory world and our everyday reality. His paintings are warm and friendly, yet remain mysterious, giving the impression that we have walked into a theater but the play was already in progress, the plot very much underway, It is this relationship between audience and artwork that has endeared so many Alexandru's paintings."
