I was on assignment for National Geographic magazine on a cheetah story. One day, in Maasai Mara, I stayed with a cheetah mother and her three adolescent offspring. I was drawn to one adolescent male who seemed uninhabited, curious and bold. The background was gorgeous and I aligned him with it, going low down. I waited and clicked when he looked back with directness and a hint of insolence.
I hope the print imparts a sense of wilderness and transports you there with the young cat. By the way, the magazine featured this photograph in my cheetah story.
