Artist's description:

I paint flowers so they will not die, said the world's most famous female Mexican painter, Ms Frida Kahlo.

As a printmaking artist, one of the frustrating things I find is that I have a fair few prints that don't quite make the grade. I really don't like wasting paper, especially when I print on such lovely stock. So I have turned some of those papers into this collage.

This collage is based on Arches watercolour paper, and each piece is stuck down with glue. In order to protect this artwork, I recommend it be framed behind glass and handling is kept to a minimum.

It will be sent to you in a sturdy envelope, packed with cardboard and a plastic sleeve to protect it. I recommend waiting until you receive it before organising framing.

Materials used:

paper, ink, glue, paint

I paint flowers... // original mixed media collage of Frida Kahlo using printmaking off cuts (2017)
