Artist's description:

Inspired by the Danish coastline, the short series of 3 "Hygge" tells the tale of the emotive North Sea.

"Hygge" is defined as: A quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture).
Well, I couldn't agree more!

Denmark has always had a special place in my heart (give me outstanding but often cold, near empty beaches anytime - I don't need sweltering heat and masses of tourists) and yet again, the beautiful country has not failed to enthrall me.

The second piece in the series is an abstraction of my, very personal, experience. A lot more light hearted than the first, it's all about bright skies, deep blue sea and ever changing clouds in the grip of fierce winds. My own little piece of heaven.
