Artist's description:

‘A colourful storm’ – part 2.

Hydd is the second of a four part series. Each piece is multi coloured and the ‘interactions’ of the different colours create plenty to look at. I feel that each piece fitted within the ‘Colourful Storm’ description well. They each have a slightly different feel, some darker than others, some with bolder interactions, others with complex interjections of varying colours. The 4 canvases are square and measure 80cm x 80cm, with a depth of 1.5cm. The edges are painted too. Each will be sold unframed.

When I came to painting Hydd, I decided again to use my favourite colours, but to go somewhat lighter. I used a small amount of white to break up the intense colour. I decided to go with some lighter shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink and to use their darker counterparts to create a point of interest. I’m pleased with the end result and how my eye is drawn to the darker sections.

I painted Hydd at the same time as I painted Hedydd. I wanted the two pieces to be similar, but for Hydd to be a lighter version of Hedydd. Together the two look great. Hydd also is made up of 16 colours.

Let's fill this world with colour one painting at a time.

Thank you for viewing.
