A still life of an Airfix model Hawker Hurricane Mk1; 1:48 scale.
The idea behind this set-up was to construct a still-life, the elements of which might suggest more special meaning than a vase of flowers or bowl of fruit.
This model was actually used as a prop in a BBC programme about Peter Townsend called "For Valor": transmitted in 1995, and fronted by Tim Bell. It has since suffered tail damage!
The painting was made in the Autumn of 2014 as part of a still-life class I conducted at Nant Studios in Wales.
Canvas presented on a stretcher; unframed
oils
