Original Water color of a rare blue-breasted hummingbird, looking yonder as hope approaches.
One of the hardest pieces I've painted thus far, this hummingbird and its tightly layered feathers was a tricky but satisfying piece. The long beak required delicate attention, while the body involved careful mixing of colours and the finest brush in my possession. The mind rests in the most blissful of places, and by painting this young bird, a miraculous lightness of being filled my veins. There is beauty in those that remain unstirred.
