Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

"There is a crack, a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." These are lyrics from Leonard Cohen's wonderful track 'Anthem', which inspired this artwork.

Music offers me a masses of inspiration; this song has deep personal meaning for me and gifted me the vision for this painting. It speaks of the need to have light in our lives in order to survive, irrespective of how difficult the path may be.

This painting has textured areas and rich dark blends of colour; organic, thin red run lines through the dark areas and a single white flash of light breathes life into the soul of this work.

It has two D rings on the back and is wired and ready to hang. The sides are painted blue/black and it is signed discretely on the side (see photo). It is varnished with satin varnish, which gives it a soft sheen.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint, sand texture paste, acrylic ink, stretched linen canvas - all artists' quality.
