Artist's description:

A bit of a break from botanical subjects this time .This painting is of one my favourite equine statues, its one of two horses accompanying the statues of Caster and Pollux sited at the top of the Cordonate stairs on the Capitoline hill in Rome, they date from c200ad which I think is pretty amazing even if they have been heavily repaired ,Rome has always been one of my favourite cities to visit ,I think a lot of it has to do with the age and colour of the building materials used in the city, the buildings and statues give off a warmth throughout the year, no matter which season of year I have visited I have always found something to inspire.

Materials used:

acrylic on stretched canvas sides painted ready for hanging with or without frame
