Artist's description:

'Begin - to begin is half the work, let half still remain; again begin this, and thou wilt have finished. (Marcus Aurelius)'
There is a local charity which holds a fund raising book fair twice a year to support their care of dogs. Last October, I donated a large landscape painting to be raffled off to help raise funds. Known as the Hope Book Fair, it is well attended, and provides a great opportunity for a plein air painter to get down some lively movement and colour. As for Marcus' quote, it is always the question as to whether the painting is finished or not, and I was determined to get it down 'alla prima', and not do any studio touch-ups (which I normally do), and I did!
