Inspired by a visit to Brittany where Gauguin stayed in the 1880s this is the first of two homages to Gauguin painted by Patrick following a visit to Pont Aven, Brittany. It features quotations from Gauguin's paintings from Brittany and Tahiti. The mustard yellow plaster frame is a beautiful addition to the image, where Patrick parodied Gauguin's complimentary colours and flattened perspective.
