Artwork description:

'Home to Roost' was Inspired by the wintery Suffolk landscape near to where I live. This evocative image depicts the habitat of Rooks within the seasonal rhythms of the natural world.
Often as dusk descends, on the horizon flocks of Rooks and Crows can be seen gathering cawing to each other, they finally settle on ancient trees to roost for the night...There is something rather mythical about these birds... one can contemplate how generation after generation their rituals are performed.

"Over the land freckled with snow half-thawed
The speculating rooks at their nests cawed
And saw from elm-tops, delicate as flower of grass,
What we below could not see, Winter pass."
–by - Edward Thomas, ‘Thaw’
