I have a weakness for sheep. They'll pop up here from time to time. I like serious portraits of them, folksy ones, and just plain silly ones. It's the only animal that can get away with all characterizations.
This was my first oil in years. I have to confess to finding it all very messy (for me, not the painting) and I admire artists who seem not to experience that - in fact, who seem to wallow in it. You do get some good, free-flowing texture, of course, but I think I'll stick to acrylics for the time being.
