Artist's description:

One of the first art techniques I learned at an art class was underpainting. I found this very interesting; to create a background which will affect what you finally see. As I love to create contrasts and opposites, whether they be bold or subtle, I wanted to create a soft flowing base, with definite contrasting linear shapes of colour shades. I think the end result is something quite hypnotic and almost ghostly! I hope you enjoy making up your own mind about it.
As with the majority of my work, it can be hung either landscape or portrait.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint and acrylic texture medium

Hidden Depths (2012)
