I love the shape and delicate nature of hibiscus flowers. This is a large decorative fun work showing a hibiscus with abstract elements of spring, a window, and spring warm rain. It lights up any space.
Painting more abstract is actually more difficult. You are forced to paint with a different part of the brain and my conscious keeps criticizing and second guessing. Sure it’s easy to destroy it, but then again when it opens a new brain path it is very rewarding. The viewer experience also gets to experience the painting with the brain not so much with the eyes and have a new reaction, beyond the “what is it?” . I have been told we see with the brain, and we like to see previous patterns and models that we already know. This type of painting opens the brain for new horizons and reactions.
