Artist's description:

I see extraordinary organic connections between fashion and flowers. Here, my muse wears a hibiscus flower behind her ear.

This piece was made through a unique process. The first layer is black/brown/blue watercolor on paper. The color of the flower is from a square overlay of india ink on acetate (a plastic). The acetate is secured at the bottom with glue dots and cannot be seen when placed behind an 8" x 10" mat. However, the left and top edges of the acetate are slightly viewable within the image (which seems to intrigue viewers).

This pieces fits an 11" x 14" mat with an 8” x 10” opening. The actual paper size is 9" x 12". A first name signature and year is on the front. A full name and year is on the back.

Materials used:

watercolor, india ink, graphite, paper and acetate
