Hen Cloud is a rocky outcrop at the end of a range of rocks known a The Roaches in the English Peak District. It's a very popular location for rock climbers and walkers. During the last century the local landowner imported a collection of Wallabies from Australia. Some of the wallabies managed to escape and for several years a small colony of these small marsupials lived around Hen Cloud and the Roaches. Unfortunately, the last of the wallabies dies out in the 1980's. I painted this picture en plein air - on location in a 3 hour sitting.
