Artist's description:

Close-up, monochrome portrait inspired by Brad Pitt in Ocean's Twelve with a wonky German subtitle.

This is one of several remaining paintings from my "Movie Paintings" series from 2012. For a while, I painted a whole series of actor's portraits, many of them with randomly selected German subtitles. (You can see an exhibition view of the subtitled paintings for reference on one of the images)

This is a 40cm x 40cm oil painting on canvas.
The painting, like the others of this series, was done in a rough & spontaneous way with thin paint, letting show the toned canvas through the rather mat paint. On this particular painting, I added some strange texture with kitchen roll paper.
It was shown in an exhibition called "Close-Up" in Munich.

Materials used:

artist grade oil paint, canvas
