I love looking at hay rolls while I'm driving in the country. They are so peaceful and there is something so appealing about them when you see them in row after row either on rolling hills or flat plots of farmland. I have taken many photographs so that I can go home to paint them.
This is my abstract painting of hay rolls, painted with acrylics using a palette knife. I've used the light of a setting sun that created pink and orange hues in the evening sky. The colors of the sky bounce off the hay rolls to give it an illuminating effect.
I hope you like my painting, it will be hard to part with.
