Artist's description:

A celebration of British wildlife: a big brown hare, a common frog, an emperor moth, a spring of ivy and hawthorn an a little lady bird.

This painting is part of my British wildlife series, in which all the living things featured I have seen within three miles of my home.

This painting is made using the drypoint method, an intaglio printmaking technique a bit like etching. I incise an image by hand into a polypropylene sheet and from this I make prints. Each one is then tinted by hand with watercolour, again creating more slight variations.

Materials used:

Drypoint and watercolour on 300 gsm heavy duty fine art paper
