I spent a lot of time in natural history museums to make anatomically accurate sketches for my future book about prehistoric fauna of Ukraine. During one of these visits, I went to an exhibition of exotic insects and they conquered my mind. So there was a small series of watercolor insects. Three of them, Little Virgin Tiger Moth, Gymnetis stellata and Catacanthus incarnatus, parti in the "Unbreakable Flowers" exhibition that was dedicated to art during the war.

Gymnetis stellata is a brightly colored species of flower chafer that occurs in parts of Mexico.

Size: 20x26 cm

Paper: ARCHES, archival quality watercolour paper, 100% cotton, 300g/m²
Medium: professional watercolours with the highest lightfastness infex from Schmincke Horadam and Ukrainian brand RÓSA Gallery.
