There is a moment in a wave when the light is just right that the sea shows it's beauty in the blue-green of a wave. I was lucky to capture this in a photograph while walking along the beach on the east coast several years ago. I finally got around to painting the scene. I try not to use a rather vivid green called Thalo Green because it looks artificial to me. The color is really more of a vivid jade touched with the sunlight. I'm particularly happy with this outcome. The rocks struck me as if they were protecting the shoreline, hence the title.
