The forester is another name for the grey kangaroo because it is generally associated with the woodlands in the eastern forests of Australia. It's Australia's second biggest kangaroos with the red kangaroo of the arid center of the continent being fractionally larger and it is the kangaroo most probably encountered in rural areas around the big towns and cities. The male is a spectacular creature to encounter as it is the size of a man and then rising even higher on its powerful hind legs to become mobile growing in stature alongside the docile grey females with their joey's and whose company the big males seek. The grey kangaroo lives in Tasmania's north and in the south it gives way to the Bennett's wallaby which in most respects looks like a miniature grey kangaroo.
I'm experimenting with an oval canvas and so it's ready for hanging and doesn't need a frame. It has my signature etched into the thin yellow stripe on the left.
