Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

I'm working on a bird series, and I became pretty obsessed with owls. I drew five or six owls. The great gray owl is one of my favorite owls. It's considered the world's largest owl. The big facial disc helps it locale prey. I love that big disc. It's so unusual.

Recently, I attended an Audubon Society meeting, and the Raptor Club brought in a great gray owl that had been wounded. It's an amazing bird. And it's wonderful to see one up close!!
