This is a real hit from my past. The winter of 1990-91 I travelled India and Nepal with my paints and paper and I did plenty of interesting paintings on location. This small project is a prelude to a larger painting on the subject. Note that the paper has yellowed somewhat over time.
I visited these ruins in Southern India. At that time this was an amazing location to visit and stay some time to absorb the mood of the place, the huge stone ruins covering vast distances. This is one result of that adventure.
The close up picture is to get a feel for the brush strokes of the painting.
