Over the past two years I've spent a lot of time at the Gold Coast, in Queensland, Australia. The light and the water and the mix of cringey 90s architecture and beautiful hidden gems of natural wonders make for a marvelous experience. I painted this after a weekend with my friends, walking across a headland in the direction of Surfer's Paradise. I loved the deep shadows and the blues. I loved the day. And I loved the people I was with.
