This is Fifi and her beau on the way to the market to buy some nice fresh sardines! They treat themselves once a week! Fifi did not chose her beau for his money but for his charm, his dashing cravats and his extraordinary ability to ride a bike. A simple rat catching salary does not stretch to fresh fish every day but who cares when you are in love!!
The collage is made on a rich natural linen background. Fifi is made of a fabric which gives the impression of fur and her beau is made of a sleek black cotton and his beret is made of rich black wool. The well cycled country lane is made of hessian and it is bordered by lots of flowers in different cotton materials, all stitched to bring everything together. The bike is in a very fashionable vivid blue colour.
The collage title and my signature are embroidered onto the front of the collage.
The collage is sold unframed. I have taken a photo of it in a frame to show how lovely it looks when framed.
