Postcard-sized artwork in ink and watercolour of a bunch of bananas. This was such a familiar sight during our trip to Tenerife early this year. The lush, laden plantain trees are such an attractive sight, and the green and yellow colours pop out against the clear bright blue sky and the red and brown terracotta tiled roofs. This also reminded me of travels around South India, where plantains and bananas are also used in curries and in temples as offerings.
I have created this in a naive, folk art style which is evocative of the art seen on temple walls in India.
Size of a postcard, this delightful little drawing is part of the Miniature collection. Drawn on heavyweight 350 gsm watercolour paper with ink and winsor and newton watercolours, it is bound to stand out in blue, green, yellow and black.
Either framed in any standard frame or sent as a gift, this is bound to bring a smile to anyone's face!!
