Original artwork description:

Lakshmi - is one of the principal goddesses in Hinduism. She is the goddess of wealth, fortune, love, beauty, joy and prosperity. Along with Parvati and Saraswati she forms the trinity of Hindu goddesses “Tridevi”. In my painting she is depicted sited on her Lotus pedestal, while holding lotus flowers in her hands, symbolizing fortune, self-knowledge, and spiritual liberation. With her other two hands, she pours out Wealth, shown as falling coins, and makes the sign of blessing.
Lakshmi is very often shown with one or two elephants symbolizing work, activity, and strength, as well as water, rain and fertility for abundant prosperity.
My representation of the beautiful Goddess Lakshmi is done following the traditional canon and would brighten not only the feelings of those who are engaged in spiritual practice but also serve beautifully to create a thematic Indian interior design with the representation of one of the most benevolent and loved Goddesses.
