Artist's description:

This is one of my entries to the Muted Colors Competition of Liquitex on Artfinder.

I always like to start painting out of the blue...just going with the flow and creating an atmosphere. That's how this work got started... The only thing I had in mind was that I wanted to create some kind of innerlandscape. I'm a naturelover and nature always enchants me, surprises me and inspires me. No wonder this scene showed up.
Playing with the fluid paints suddenly this treelines appaered to me in front of a lovely sunset...the church got in spontaneously. While layering, the colors sofly mixed up and changed to muted tones, which gave the scene a soft, smooth and quiet atmosphere. Thats what muted colours do...they ease and seem to slow you down a bit. The little vibrance of the sunset does however enlighten the whole scene. This is what's exiting about this work I think. When dried up I worked it out a little more with pastels to add some more detail.
