Flying high over glacial ice fields in Alaska, I noticed that pollution and weathering had sculpted some stunning fluid lines and textured ridges in the ice. The overall impression was fluidity and movement, depicting scoured, clean areas surrounded by various shades of taupe and gray. It looked almost as if you could reach out and touch the ice and feel the ash layers. Since I love texture, I was inspired by this unusual and uniquely majestic sight.
