Original artwork description:

I painted this little girl with her pet, a very hyper active Yorkie, who was as skittish as she was calm. I loved the child's serene expression, in direct contrast to the alertness of the dog, although it was a good deal easier doing preliminary drawings of them separately and them marrying up the images in the final work.
Portraits are portraits, and the likeness of an animal is, to me, as special as that of a child.
And children and animals together are, quite simply, magical!
