Artist's description:

I haven't painted a giraffe for a little while and I was missing them. I'm lucky that I live near enough to visit both London Zoo and Whipsnade easily so I have tons of Giraffe reference that I have amassed over the years. They fascinate me, so beautiful and elegant in an utterly unique way. I have used a handmade linen board as my painting ground, I love using the natural colour and texture to compliment my animal paintings. The text is from a 1925 African Handbook, it was a treasure trove of information for early 20th century ex-pats.

I have left the painting unframed but it is a standard 18cm x 24cm so this should be straightforward. I'll protect it in a clear cello bag and send it with love!

Materials used:

Linen board, book page and artist's acrylics
